Drawings from my personal Sketchbook
I will try to upgrade the lighting on these next week. For now this will have to do...
So... I have just had a delicious time working on the feet this last month. One of my 14 month goals, and I learned this from one of my favorite artists, Patrick Devonas, is to have the capability to draw the figure out of my head with as hi a level of accuracy as possible from any direction with any type of lighting.
Again I am learning that the more rules I can break the better off I will be. Eventually I plan on just being able to do one solid brushstroke for the navicular bone for example, similar to what Sargent did, to solidify the impression of the foot if I choose to.
It's a very rewarding and quite entoxicating process to go through and it's quite entertaining to be in the room or rather sketchbook of the Old Masters, learning there trials and errors, and summoning from them the strength to move past fails towards victories.
This particular ratio of the foot is from one of my hero's from the Father land (Germany) Albrecht Durer. There are also notations as is noted from other masters and from art books.
Thanks again for your time!
